My New Logo! And Some Other New Things

When I graduated from college with my photography minor and moved back home to Fort Wayne, I was ready to start working as a portrait photographer in my spare time. I started my Facebook page, designed and ordered my first business cards, created a logo, and put together this website so I could have an official online presence. I was (and still am, for the most part) a one-woman show.

But last year, I started to realize that maybe I wasn't the best person for every job. In January I worked with Melissa from Triple M Studios to liven up my brand with a strong color scheme, intentional font selections, and, of course, a new logo. I've known Melissa since college (we were in the photography minor together at Cedarville University), and she's a graphic designer who really knows her stuff.

This was a big step for me, and required a little bit of "letting go," which isn't always easy for me to do. But it was actually a relief to turn something so important over to an expert. And the result is something way better than I could ever come up with on my own!

Over the past couple months I've been working out a new business model that focuses on providing a more comprehensive service to everyone I photograph. That means I want to do more than just show up, take your picture, and give you the images. I want to give you a start-to-finish experience that begins with planning a personalized portrait session, and ends with printed images on your walls and keepsakes in your hands.

If you're like most people, you have hundreds of pictures on your phone. And you probably have even more on your computer, or saved on flash drives and disks. How often do you pop a disk in your computer and scroll through the images? Wouldn't it be better if they were displayed on your walls, or on desktops and shelves, in handheld keepsakes you could show off to relatives and friends?

We all have the best of intentions about printing our photos, but I know from experience that it's hard to sit down and put in the effort of deciding where to order from, which images to print, and which products to print them on. So your pictures stay on a disk, on your phone, or buried in a Facebook album.

That's why I'm introducing the Premiere Night and why I've created product collections tailored to the needs of high school seniors and families. About two weeks after your session, I'll come to your home and reveal your image gallery. This is the night when you'll choose your favorite images and order your products and digital files, either in a collection or ala carte.

My collections are designed to include everything you need to show off your images. I offer products like albums, canvas gallery wraps, image folios, digital slideshows, digital images for print and social media, and other prints and keepsakes. (More product feature articles are coming soon.)

My goal is to give you more than just a picture. I want to give you the experience of being photographed, and the keepsakes that make your images look their best.

Spring is (hopefully) right around the corner, and it's not too early to start thinking about a spring senior portrait session or a summer family session. Contact me to receive my client guide that provides all the details and pricing information about my new full-service sessions.
