I loved taking Bryce and Mallory's prom pictures again this year! We went to Salomon Farm, which was our first choice of venue last year until we got rained out. But the weather was gorgeous this year. It was warm, partly sunny, and breezy. The blue sky and fluffy clouds were a great backdrop, and even the moderate wind worked in our favor.
It had been a while since I had been to Salomon Farm, so it was fun to look around and explore a little bit. Some of the park's best locations for portraits are hidden behind the barn or in between little sheds and buildings.
After we finished taking pictures on the farm grounds, I took them to a little spot that overlooks the Salomon Farm barn from a distance. Mallory was brave enough to try walking up the little hill while wearing heels, but eventually ended up getting a piggy-back ride from Bryce. Away from the shade of the barn, the bright sunlight was a bit harsher than I would have liked, but it actually made for some nice back-lit shots.
These two were a lot of fun to work with. Bryce is my brother-in-law and Mallory is his girlfriend, so we know each other fairly well. Prom pictures are so much fun. I love seeing the guys and girls dressed up, pinning corsages on each other, the girls with their hair done, and the excitement for not just the evening's dance but for summer and new experiences after the school year. To Bryce and Mallory - thanks for letting me take these portraits for you guys! They turned out beautifully and I didn't even get a sunburn!
