I'm excited to show off my first official family portrait session! The Stedge family was great, and we couldn't have asked for better weather. (Though, we would have appreciated a few fewer mosquitoes.) I've known the Stedges from church for a while, and later found out they're actually related to my husband's family. Fort Wayne has a population of roughly 265,000, but it really feels more like a small town sometimes.
We took these portraits literally right in the Stedges' backyard. The lawn behind their house backs up to a grassy area surrounding a pond. There were plenty of plants and trees, and even a few wildflowers growing on the little hill by the pond. The area made the perfect backdrop on a lovely summer evening.
These girls were so much fun to work with. They definitely brought four unique personalities to the session and had their own ideas about posing and where they wanted some individual shots taken. And, of course, we had to take an individual shot of mom and dad. It seems like parents spend lots of time taking pictures of their kids, and not enough making sure they have pictures of themselves, especially together.
At the end of the evening they brought out Daisy, the family dog, to join in on a group portrait. Once Daisy got situated and seated, she was very photogenic. I just had to call her name and she gave me a big smile. Unfortunately the cat wasn't as willing to come outside and cooperate. I love it when families include their pets in portraits!
I'm so happy I got to photograph the Stedge family! They were great to work with for my first official family portrait session. It was a fun, relaxed evening together and they all looked great on camera. Thanks to the Stedge family for letting me take their family portraits this summer!
If you're looking for family portraits (or senior portraits!) in the Fort Wayne area, send me a message and I'll send you more information about working with me!
