It's the end of another busy year! Building a photography business requires a lot of patience and persistence but it's encouraging to look back on this year and see that I've made some real progress... and gotten to work with some awesome people along the way!
As always, my main focus is on high school seniors. I worked with four students this year, two in the spring and two in the fall. What I love about working with seniors is that each one is so different in their passions and goals. The senior guys I photographed in the spring were both athletes; one played on the soccer team and one played on the lacrosse team. This fall I worked with a senior lady who works backstage on many of the high school's plays, and another who was a member of the marching band.
This year I branched a bit more into family photography than I have in the past, taking on two family portrait sessions, and a 1-year-old's session. And I had the cutest little girl and two of the most fun and photogenic families to work with.
This year I also got a brand-new lens for my camera: the Sigma f/1.8 50-100 mm zoom lens I rented back in March, which has been absolutely perfect for my portrait sessions.
I'm so thankful for everyone who chose me as their photographer this year, and for those who let me borrow them to be "models" for some new locations I wanted to try out. I have a lot of new things planned for 2018, so stay tuned for announcements coming soon! In the meantime, join me as I look back on some of my favorite images of 2017, portraits and otherwise.
